Research Introduction
Introduction
This personal website is designed to be an introduction of the current researches by Akinori Takasuka. My interests have been directed to the mechanisms of fish population dynamics. The current main topics are biological mechanisms of species alternations, growth-based survival mechanisms during early life stages, and spawning biology of small pelagic fish. Special emphasis has been on biological and ecological perspectives.
Brief personal history

I have had an interest in fish since early childhood. During grade-school years, I would often go in a river to catch catfish. Also, I was an enthusiastic aquarist and collected foreign freshwater fish in aquariums.
Finally, I decided to be a fisheries biologist, when I proceeded to a junior year in the University. In March 2003, my PhD thesis was finished. This seems somewhat funny for myself, as my childhood dream was to be a fish-doctor (sensu a person of broad knowledge).

Always, I hope to be a researcher of "hot heart & cool mind" and aspire to be "a specialist with the property of a generalist".
